This blog will attempt to document the progress as we tackle an allotment from scratch which has been totally neglected, 5 feet deep in thick brambles with much rubbish underneath. We are using recommended heavy hand tools which we have not used before and will be commenting on their effectiveness as we go. Finally we are trying to complete this without wrecking my bad back which has a history of dodgyness after a bout of disc prolapse!

More stuff from pallets
Getting ready for potting up time by converting some of the pallets we were given into..... A potting bench!!!!
Wow! I love this! What a handy person you are...do you have plans or measurements and instructions for this? I'd love to make one myself if you do. Keep up the fab work...your plot is looking great :)
Hi Sweeepea, nice to hear you got a plot. We remember how exciting it was to get one. As for the potting bench, I designed it on the back of an envelope really but I would be very happy to draw it up a bit better and let you have a copy, I have posted some new pics of it with a nice finish on it....
All you will need are a couple of pallets taken apart and a bunch of screws.... We used ours for the first time today and it is very nice to work on.
I will send you a message when I have drawings ready. It has in fact raised quite a bit of interest which is nice! and I am wondering if I should make it up in kit form! Very nice to know that pallets are being recycled.
